Baladino

It’s a day out at Dino Park! The masters are out and about, accompanied by their loyal pet Dinos.

Very quickly, a competition begins: which Dino will be the fastest to reach the park gates?
Everyone starts on the central path—but watch out for Billy, the park guardian, who keeps a close eye and can’t stand seeing Dinos wander too far from their masters!

In Baladino, players take on the role of masters walking their pet Dinos. A race is organized along the central path of Dino Park, and the first Dino to reach the end of the path is declared the winner.

Each player must manage the movement of two pawns: their Dino pawn AND their Master pawn. To move, players roll the die and choose to move either their Dino or their Master. To win the game, only the Dino pawn matters, so it would seem logical to move only that pawn—but that’s where Billy, the park guardian, steps in! Billy is strict and won’t tolerate Dinos being too far away from their masters.

When a player rolls the whistle on the die, if their Dino is more than 3 spaces ahead of their Master pawn, they must move their Dino back to the same space as their Master. Each player must find their own strategy—bold or cautious—to move forward and win the race!
